Rajesh Kumar Thimmulappa
Dr Thimmulappa is an associate professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the JSS Medical College in Mysore, India. After completing his PhD in India, he joined Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, as a postdoctoral fellow. He continued to work there for the next 15 years. His major research interest is delineating adaptive cellular responses to environmental stressors (such as air pollutants) to understand their role in disease pathogenesis, as well as developing therapeutics (phytochemicals) to mitigate disease progression, especially chronic respiratory diseases.
